HubSpot phone and email validation
Validate contacts as they enter HubSpot and write carrier, line type and email status back to properties.
Why validate inside HubSpot
HubSpot lists fill up with typos, VoIP numbers and role emails from gated content. Sales reps waste calls and marketing burns sender reputation. Validating on contact creation and writing the results to custom properties lets you build lists, workflows and lead scoring on clean data.
There are two ways in: a HubSpot workflow with a Webhook action (Operations Hub) or a Zapier/Make bridge on any tier. Either way you write back three properties: phone_line_type, phone_carrier and email_status.
Setup
- Create custom contact properties: phone_line_type, phone_carrier, email_status.
- Build a workflow on contact creation with a Send webhook action (Operations Hub) or trigger a Zap or Make scenario.
- Call https://lookuplab.io/api/v1/phone/ and /email/ with the contact's values.
- Write the results back with a Set property action or the HubSpot update step in your automation tool.
Phone validation is not consent, ownership verification or guaranteed delivery. Email syntax and MX checks establish domain-level signals, not proof that a particular mailbox exists.
What teams build with it
- Lead scoring that penalizes VoIP numbers and role emails.
- Suppression lists for landlines before an SMS campaign.
- Bounce prevention for marketing emails.
Questions
Do I need Operations Hub?
For native webhook actions yes. Otherwise use Zapier or Make with the same endpoints.
Is there a HubSpot app?
Not yet. The webhook route is fully supported.
